However if you have a pup  at home you must be very careful on which plants you purchase or grow because many of them are highly poisonous to Fido.

Common Symptoms

Autumn Crocus:

  • Intense burning around the mouth
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Liver, Heart, and Kidney issues
  • Seizures
  • The entire plant is toxic, however the bulbs are the most toxic

Azalea:

  • Oral irritation
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Drop in blood pressure (severe case)
  • Coma (severe case)
  • Death (severe case)

Daffodil:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Drop in blood pressure
  • Abdominal pain
  • Convulsions
  • The entire plant is poisonous but the bulb is the most toxic

Dieffenbachia aka Dumb Cane:

  • Burning sensation in and around the mouth
  • Vomiting
  • Problems swallowing
  • Oral irritation

Tulip:

  • Excessive drooling
