Salix Animal Health Food Recall

Salix Animal Health Company that is based out in Florida has issued a recall on their “Good ‘n’ Fun Beefhide Chicken Sticks” dog treats due to a possible contamination of Salmonella bacteria.

Distributed Nationwide

This particular brand of doggie treats has been distributed Nationwide to Dollar Tree and General Dollar Retail Stores. Only one has tested positive for the bacteria. The recall item is the 2.8 ounce bag with the lot number of AO15010, The UPC code is 0 91093 82247 1 with the expiration date of 3/2018. All this information can be found on the back of the package.

Recalled Food Symptoms

If your pet is demonstrating the following contact your vet ASAP!

  • Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea

So far there hasn’t been a report of an illness related to the recalled food. Salix Animal Health  Co urges all customers to return product for a refund or properly dispose of it. The product was tested by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. According to the company, all their other products are safe to use.
