Signs your cat may have a Idiopathic Lower UTD

What is Feline Idiopathic lower Urinary track disease  (FILUTD)?

FILUTD consist of blood in the urine along with a blockage in the urethra called  Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC). This causes pain or difficulty while  using the bathroom, thus leading Whiskers searching for other places to potty in.

  • Pain or difficulty
  • Urinating everywhere but the litter box

At this point the causes are unknown since symptoms can show up out of no where.

What to expect at the vet

After ruling out other possible disorders, your vet will order a urinalysis and will perform many blood test to determine if the cause is  bacteria, fungal, or parasitic. If your cat has blockage she or he may need to be hospitalized. A new diet will be recommended to help prevent it along with keeping Whisker’s stress level’s low as possible.
